Rev. Dr. Bill Young is MCC Associate Pastor for Outreach Ministries at Austin. In this capacity he ensures that MCCA remains visible
in the Austin area by interacting with local religious and social service organizations and GLBT community organizations. He also
serves on the board of Austin Area Interreligious Ministries.
Bill was ordained at MCC Austin in 2000, following several years of
study in MCC's Samaritan Institute. He also holds a Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Texas at Austin and is employed
as Adjunct Associate Professor in the Computer Science Department at UT.
Bill shares his life with his partner Blake Grugett and their
two chihuahuas, Chiquita and Charro.
As Associate Pastor for Pastoral Care, the Rev. John Miessner serves to provide oversight for the deacon program of providing pastoral
care which includes prayer support, peer listening, and hospital visitation for the members and friends of MCCA.
John received his
pastoral education at Concordia University Milwaukee and Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri. He has been a member of MCCA
since 2000. (He has served as a deacon and a member of Team Vision.) He was ordained in the Assemblies of God and has several years
of experience as a pastor.
John holds this position as a part time staff member and is employed by the Texas Office of the Attorney
General.
As Executive Pastor, Karen manages financial and human resources operations for MCC Austin. In another role, she serves as Pastor
for the Saturday @ 6:24 service. A graduate of Austin Presbyterian Seminary, Karen was the first out lesbian approved as a Candidate
for Ministry in Mission Presbytery, a regional body of the PC(USA). However, hearing God’s call to serve her GLBT brothers and sisters,
she withdrew from the PC(USA) to pursue ordination in the UFMCC. On August 11, 2007, Rev. Karen Thompson was ordained here at MCC
Austin as a minister in the Metropolitan Community Church.
Karen and her partner, Stacey, make their home in southwest Austin with
their three children.
Daniel Arredondo is a graduate of Westminster Choir College earning his Bachelor's Degree in Music Education. While studying, he earned
a spot in the world-famous Westminster Choir that performs annually with the New York Philharmonic. Recently, Mr. Arredondo finished
his Level III Kodaly Certification studying under Dr. Philip Tacka and Dr. Michael Houlahan.
Daniel serves as the head choir director
at Lehman High School where he conducts choirs which have earned multiple sweepstakes at UIL contest. He is also the director of the
Hays CISD All-District Children's Chorus. Currently he is working on his master's degree in both Choral Conducting and Music Education.

Rev. David Bieniek coordinates the Communion Team at MCC Austin as well as various duties as assigned as a Clergy in Residence. Most
days he can be seen roaming the halls of St. David's Medical Center, and other hospitals where he serves as a hospital chaplain. He
has just been named chaplain for the new Dell Children's Hospital. David earned his Masters of Religious Studies from Incarnate Word
College and was ordained in MCC in August 2004. He has been a member of MCC's since 1995.
