Freedom Oaks today looks a lot different than the densely forested, brush-covered ten acre lot purchased in 1997. The Grounds Maintenance Ministry ensures that our grounds are an attractive setting for our church and a genuine resource for the community.

One of our Core Values here at MCC Austin is children and families. We put that value into practice by offering childcare for children ages 0-3 during all worship services and Sunday School for children ages 4-7 and 8-10 during the 11:00 worship on Sundays. Our new curriculum is “Godly Play,” which uses a Bible story approach to teaching children about Christian worship. MCC Austin is definitely a place to bring the whole family!

AADM provides a comfortable setting to share common interests, concerns and experiences.

AADM’s mission is to increase diversity in church membership and ministry participation. AADM works with church leaders to provide a spiritual environment and worship experience that addresses the needs and interests of all people. AADM’s goals include promoting recognition of African American holidays during worship services and special events; hosting seminars, workshops and other events that promote diversity in church life; and sharing information with church leaders and members of the congregation about issues that impact diversity in the church.

Membership in AADM is open to all people from all ethnic, racial and cultural backgrounds. AADM is based on inclusivity: everyone is encouraged to participate in activities sponsored by AADM.
